What is an instant booking?

Spaces marked „Instant“ are confirmed as soon as you pay. Otherwise the host confirms the booking — they have 24 hours, and you will be notified.

Can I cancel a booking?

It depends on the cancellation policy the host chose, shown on the listing and on the booking page. Flexible: cancel at least 24 hours before the start and the full amount is refunded, later nothing. Moderate: the same, with the line at 72 hours before the start. There is also a non-refundable policy. A refund is always the whole amount or nothing — there are no partial refunds.

What happens if the host cancels?

You are refunded in full. The host has to give a reason for cancelling.

The space did not match the description. What now?

Report the problem on the booking page within 24 hours of the booking ending. The host has 72 hours to answer. If they do not, or if you cannot agree, Habidesk reviews the dispute and decides.

Is paying safe?

Payments are handled by Stripe. Habidesk never sees or stores your card details.

When is my card charged?

On an instant booking, straight away. When the host has to confirm, the money is only held on your card at first and charged once they confirm. If they do not answer, decline, or you withdraw the request, the hold is released and no payment is taken.

What is the service fee for?

It is 4% of the booking. It covers payment processing, booking protection and help when something goes wrong. You see the amount before you pay.

When is money refunded?

The refund starts as soon as the booking is cancelled, back to the same card. How long it takes is up to your bank. If a refund fails, we are notified and return the money ourselves — there is nothing for you to do.

How do I start renting out my space?

Confirm your email and phone in your account — that is all you need to create and publish a listing. We ask for your billing details and Stripe later, before you confirm your first paid booking: we need them to pay you and to issue invoices.

When do I get paid?

The payout is scheduled the day after the booking ends and sent to the account registered with Stripe. How long it then takes to reach your bank is up to Stripe and your bank. The payout is the booking amount minus the 0% platform fee.

A renter reported a problem. What do I do?

Give your answer on the booking page within 72 hours. If you do not, Habidesk reviews the dispute and decides.

Question 12

How do I contact the host or the renter?

Accepted Answer

Every booking has its own message thread, and all conversations are under „Messages“. A conversation cannot be started without a booking.

Question 13

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

In account settings choose „Delete account“. This cannot be undone.
